The old cnut shouldn't comment on anyone or anything until he puts his teeth in. Poor [Poor language removed], he probably thinks he still works for John Moores and it's the 1980s. You insist on a stairlift if you're re-joining that boardroom, Pip.

This will be the soft **** that allowed HK to be tempted to Spain, and chose Harvey as the replacement.

I can't believe you would say this. The Euro ban did a massive part in tempting HK to Spain, and the is no reason Harvey shouldn't have been appointed. He is/was an awesome coach, he just didn't make the transition to leader that you would have expected him to make. Hindsight is beautiful though, isn't it.

Harvey was the right choice at the time, and if you recall, while he didn't do brilliantly, he did do decently.

Your saying is that HK went to Athletic Bilbao to continue his assault on Europe...Bilbao, not Madrid or Barca ? He should have been talked out of that for footballing and personal reasons.

Harvey was clearly not the right choice. That's hindsight for me, and lack of foresight for Carter as the employer who'd had direct contact with him for many years. Unfortunately, Harvey left it a year to update the squad, and then squandered the money on substandard midgets and the indescribable Neil McDonald.

All true but lets be fair about it we werent flushed with cash back in the 80s either,as i recall it they didnt exactly pull out all the stops to keep Howard at the club and just let him slip away.

It was bilboa for [Poor language removed] sake, not real madrid or bercalona that move still makes my teeth itch to this day

Not something that should have allowed and not something i'd want on my CV either

As to why he's been brought back i could only assume that its a spin type measure
