Its on Sky text now aswell that he's agreed terms. Albeit it does say 'according to the swiss football federation'.

Lescott gone by friday ONLY if the 4 players we have deals on table for agree - 2 defenders, 2 midfield, lescott deal looking like 27mil, but might be 24 with 3-4mil off the agreed Jo price, its all arse about face seemingly

no names
I asked is elm was one and reply came back - No senderos aside no one we've been linked with

I asked by which friday this one or the one at the end of the month

and all I got was

ha - with a winky smiley

My own thought, it seems we are trying to spend the money before it comes, or at least get the deals done, so we dont end up ####ed on price etc

It's probably bull, but i'd take that

I don't want Joleon to go, but if he does, then so be it

This team is not just about Joleon Lescott, he's not irreplacable

I'm not at all worried about losing Lescott, because like you said Hes not Irreplaceable. I am worried this could lead to a mass exodus of our top players to so called "bigger" clubs.
The players know we cannot give them the wages they can earn with city or any other club with money. They also know we cannot even compete in the transfer market with some of the clubs who have finished below us, both last season and the season before. :(

Dont buy that.

Senderos has been bought because Moyes has said we need cover in that position. We can afford Sendero's transfer if we wanted to.

And Citeh wont spend £30mill on Lescott. Not a chance.

For some reason I believe our players are different to most others. Moyes took them from the lower leagues, and turned them into stars. Who knew who Mikel Arteta was before we got him from Socieded? Now he's one of the PL's best players. I believe the players will have a loyalty to the Club, and Moyes, because they made them who they are. They are not your typical money grabbing mercenaries, as demonstrated by he amount of time most have been here.

And the Lescott money should give us a chance to push on, only certain players prices have been inflated so in this window, there are still gems out there waiting to be found by Moyes. After all, he is the Moyesiah

I'm not calling Lescott bull or oat, but honestly anything above £20 million to me is a winner. If we have buyed Sendoros, I will happily wave hello to Phillipe and wave bye to Joleon.

We made him, by giving him the opportunity. If he wants to go to money bags, then he's just as bad as the tard who left us in Summer 2004.

Hey guys.

I'm an Arsenal fan, and write and moderate over at Arsenal Mania. Just thought I'd sign up over here to give you a Gooner's view of big Phil, and perhaps help you understand what it is you'll be getting.

Senderos has been a player that used to divide a lot of Arsenal fans. For a long time, many people thought he was the second coming of Tony Adams - both big guys, both good in the air, both with a lot of heart on the pitch, and both prone to making a lot of errors in the early years of their career. Tactically, he was one of the best defenders we have (though that's not saying much these days) - he may look clumsy, but he uses the ball efficiently out of defence, he holds the line pretty well, and he's good in the air.

However, he's also incredibly slow, and if a forward can get in behind him, he'll have a real hard job of making up the ground, and that is if he doesn't bring him down on the way through. He's a very smart guy (speaks something like 5 languages), is eloquent off the pitch, and vocal on it. However, he also really gives the impression of lacking mental toughness, and if something goes wrong (as it often does with Phil), a bit of an individual collapse is not out of the question. Oh, and whatever you do, if you play against Didier Drogba, don't even let Senderos in the stadium - he's stitched him up more times than a Women's Institute knitting class.

Overall, he's a talented guy, but not really tough upstairs, and that has cost him over the last few seasons. With a strong leader next to him, he could well flourish into an excellent defender (Jagielka maybe?), but all in all I was a little bit surprised that Moyes went for him.

Hope that helps.

Evening.

This is why I think personally we've got him/want him for back up. I'm probably wrong, but while I do feel he's a good defender that needs a lot of work, he's no replacement for Lescott.

I'd think Moyes would want to buy someone with more experience as he'd have to come in straight away and be able to play a large part of the season (Jags aint back till November, probably not 100% till late November, and Yobo goes to the African Nations Cup).

Would he be that kind of player to rely heavily on? Would Yobo and Senderos make a good team at the back?

It all seems strange. Need to know if Lescott is off or not if he's going to be the guy Moyes is going to rely on.

At that price, I don't think you'll go far wrong with Phil.

He can be a solid backup for you, and, if you're patient, might yet develop into an excellent defender. I'm a bit disappointed he didn't get one more season, especially as we've still got obnoxious gits like Silvestre still at the club.

I do hope that Moyes will keep faith in him if he settles into a good run of form though. Wenger would always drop him in favour of his favourites, and he never really settled.
