according to a few johny foreigner sites and this arsenal blog , senderos is a done deal.

If this is true, then we now have cover for the defence and we could work on getting a winger, play maker and possibly a full-back as well.

We keep talking about how new player needed time to settle, I would be very worried if we don't sign anyone next week, they would only have couple of days to settle down before the Arsenal game.

Since Arteta would not be back till end of this month, so I hope Pienaar would stay fit for this game.

Philippe Senderos (24 years) signed in Everton for the next season. Undesirable to Arsenal, the Genevese defender had been lent to l' AC Milan at the time of the last exercise. Philippe Senderos leaves Arsenal with which it still had a year of contract for Everton. The defender of l' equip with Switzerland s' is engaged for the “Toffees” after its bracket d' one year in Milan AC. 24 years old, Senderos had joined Arsenal in 2003. Duration of the contract and the amount of the n' transfer; were not communicated yet. Also coveted by Aston Villa and Sunderland, Philippe Senderos has to replace in Everton Joleon Lescott which is on the point of s' to engage in Manchester City. Directed by l' Scot David Moyes, Everton s' is classified with the fifth rank last season of First League. While thinking of the World cup After its departure of the Milan AC, which n' had not wished to raise l' option d' purchase, Philippe Senderos wished to continue his career in England initially. With Everton, it undoubtedly found the club ideal to find all its feelings at one year of the World cup. In spite of two remarkable seasons in 2005 and 2006, Philippe Senderos n' that too seldom profited from the full confidence d' Arsene Wenger in Arsenal. L' Alsatian did not count obviously on him this season insofar as it recruited last month the Belgian Thomas Vermaelen. First match against… Arsenal! In spite of the departure of Kolo Touré in Manchester City, the position of Senderos with Arsenal appeared extremely fragile. Philippe Senderos will be able very quickly to remember to the good memory d' Arsene Wenger. At the time of the first day of First League, on Saturday August 15, Everton will accomodate, indeed, Arsenal in its cave of Goodison Park.

If this is true, which I doubt, then I'm actually kind of happy. Moyes have said that he need cover in the back and Senderos can be that cover. If this is true Moyes can now focus on other parts of the squad and make a real offer for a RM that we need... hopefully Elm before he is lost to another team.

As long he's not in the first team, i'd welcome him here

Several Arse fan rate him, they say it's confidence he suffers with

So i'm sure Moyes can work his magic

And apparently he's fluent in 6 languages, that'll help new signings (yeah right) bed in

This is what Wenger said about Big Phil lately:

"At the moment he is looking for solutions," said Wenger. "He has many opportunities but he has to decide on his future. It's open."

Could be a goer this one, hopefully it's as cover, would be a great loan signing if that's the case. If he's Lescott's replacement then not so great.

Meh, hes only fairly young in defenders terms, as others have said, if its £5m or less, its a decent fee. And as my man toccy said, he would provide decent cover, but hes not a Lescott replacement, but who is really.

I think Senderos is PERFECT cover for us. Not a replacementfor Roger, but I would welcome him at any reasonable price.

It has to be for cover really though because it makes sense. We'd have cover for the CB and LB, he's cheap (5mill or loan), young, can be moulded and made better.

Couldnt see him being the one to fill Lescott's shoes straight off the bat ---anyway, Lescott aint going so it is cover.

I think if we do sign him it'll be on loan, Wenger was willing to loan him out to AC Milan recently but said he (Senderos) has a number of options.

If we continue to pick up these loans we might be able to blow our budget on a Moutinho or a Defour, you never know. That'd probably be the best way to go if we are not going to sell the big man from Brum.
