Meanwhile, captain Phil Jagielka is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a knee injury and could return before the end of the year.
The defender, who suffered medial ligament damage in the defeat to Arsenal at the end of October, is potentially in line for a comeback against Stoke on December 28.
Martinez said: “Phil had very good news from the specialist yesterday and we are well on track – probably ahead of what we expected. Now we’re going into the final period of 15 working days for him before he can join the group.
“Realistically we’re talking about maybe that group of fixtures after Boxing Day – Stoke, Spurs at home – that seems very realistic for Phil to come back.”

We definitely have, like. Stones and Jags are the best centre half partnership we have at our disposal. Funes Mori is one of the better headless buffoons we could have gotten from South America, but we're still a lot steadier with Jags beside Stones. The five games since he was forced out have been against all that "easier opposition" we talked about, remember?
Last seven games with Mori/Stones = no losses, conceded 8 goals.
12 games prior to that with Jagielka/Stones for all but two games = three losses, 18 goals conceded (three losses all with Stones/Jagielka as starters)

Yes, but while Mori was with us for the titans of Middlesborough, Bournemouth and Aston Villa, Jags was with us for what was considered the hardest opening run experienced by any PL team this season, without Coleman(mostly) or Baines. Besides, there isn't exactly a chasm sized gap between the ratio of goals conceded per game there from what I can see.

Yeah but Coleman and Baines have both been out for most of the games Mori has played as well, personlly i think we should stick with Mori but either way its a nice problem to have and we don't have to rush Jags back but can wait until we are sure he is %100.

I wonder what "15 working days" means to a football club?

A bit of an odd phrase to use...
