Don't these extensions enable clubs to reduce an ageing players' salary, that's why clubs do it? From the players' point of view they're happy because they get longer job security
 
Great for him, fully deserved. Glad to see he will probably be ending his career here. Always good to have a solid player and captain for the younger players to look up to and learn from.

Yes well earned, thats what everyone who is over 30 should get - the three year one for Howard was a joke!
 
That penalty against United at Wembley is one of my favorite Jags moments, glad he is still around and will be for a while longer.
 
Chuffed he's sticking around. Top professional.

We may moan about him but he is literally one of the best signings the club has made.
 
Final straw for McCarthy this. No chance of keeping him now lol

On a serious note, i'm pleased for him. Will have been a great servant to the club when he does finish. Don't agree that last season was his best though, reckon he was better in our cup final season.
