Jags was unable to positively influence anyone around him in the first half of the season, when we were getting ragged around like Ramsay Bolton's newest wife. Stones comes back from injury however and voila! All of a sudden, we start looking a little better at the back - even Jags started playing better. Then comes the game away at Kiev, where Stones is unavailable.... and WHACK, we get slapped around once again.
Stones was more important than Jags this year and it's not MASSIVELY surprising, given that Jags is nearly 33 and could conceivably be looking at his last two seasons of top-flight football starting now.
We should be looking at bringing in someone now, who is older than Stones but younger than Jags, because players will ALWAYS age. Argue all you like about the player of the season award, but you can't argue with aging. Not that it will stop you trying to argue, of course.
The 'Chico' covers all avenues. We need to create an award and at the end of the transfer window recognise somebody's contribution to this thread as having posted the most astoundingly pathetic post of the window.
We could call it THE STUPID or something.
Thought he was crap to start off with but then came into his own and was very good for the rest of the season, a rock at the back and integral to our improvement.
Do some people just watch youtube videos or something and make their judgements for the season off of that?
Hence BAWK sadly. It's the modern football fan disease, they exist for hyperbole, snap judgements and over reaction.
They take their lead from the texans at BBC Live Text. SUCH BANTER!
They're not Evertonians in my book as they're far more similar with the common kopite.
Even more saddening is how our fans have morphed into Newcastle's over the course of the season.BAWK started off as a light rip and sadly has descended into reality.
This is the Evertonian forum which has loads in common with RAWK. It's heart breaking to see the bell content grow as the transfer weeks pass.
A Newcastle/kopite hybrid.Even more saddening is how our fans have morphed into Newcastle's over the course of the season.
Hey Everton players, you're utterly clueless you are. Choosing Jagielka as YOUR player of the season.
What do you know you clueless biffs?
You've ignored every point I've raised in qualification of my opinion. And tried playing the politics card too.So you didn't counter anything about him being deserved player of the season, as chosen by his fellow Everton players then?
Instead you went off into an ill advised diatribe using exceptional episodes to form a myopic opinion out of touch with reality.
At least you're in line with your political views too mate.
