Phil Coutinho - Barcelona player

I think he's a bit of a fair weather player who doesn't show when the going gets tough, of course I will no longer be stating this and will call him world class and one of the best in the world, especially in front of any RS

Always thought he was a bit lightweight and inconsistent. Has shown in recent weeks that he is now world class and has earned his move to an infinitely bigger club, I'm happy for the lad. While I'm sure the adulation of a shirt burning cult was almost too good to leave behind, he'll take solace in the fact that he'll be neck deep in trophies and premium Catalonian clunge for the peak years of his career

Phil Thompson crying his little rat eyes out:

“It’s hard to get my head around what Philippe is going to gain because he can’t play Champions League football for them, they are running away with the league, and he’s got the World Cup at the end of the season.

Maybe because he'd get a trophy or 10, Phillip.

Guaranteed a La Liga medal at the end of the season so will have won more in 5 months there as he did in 5 years at them.

...this is what the pub Reds were saying yesterday. 10 days ago they refused to believe he would leave. “We’re not a selling club” one said to me.

They were all laughing at the Siggurdson deal but now we’ve pretty much screwed them because if they go with their 140 Mill to any side with a decent attacking midfielder they’re going to quote the Siggurdson price as market value and ask for a huge fee. I bet Leicester are quoting upwards of 50 Mill for Mahrez, god knows what Monaco would ask for Lemar if Mbappe went for over 100 Mill and Dembele was 90 Mill.

They got top dollar for him, bought for £10 mill sell for £140 miil, same with Suarez. It will be the same with Salah when he goes to Real after the world cup. Their business model is paying off for FSG, at the moment, who don't have to put their own money in now but can take money out of lfc and give it to the Red Sox. That said, if they want to buy they will be quoted top dollar as with Van Dijk. At least the price of Fab Four t shirts will tumble.

Like you said yesterday mate they are just bizarre. When they bought VVD I spoke to my mate to ask how much they will be getting for Coutinho ( because form a business point of view I didn't believe they would be santioning 75m cb signings without pending money coming in ) and I got an instant response in why they wouldn't sell, no need to sell, doesn't want to go etc.

Yet here we are and the inevitable happened and he was sold.

Did he serious say he doesn't want to go ? Jesus he's been crying to get out the last 18 month's. The man has actually if rumours are true, paid between £9m and £12m for his taxi.
