Which do you prefer, an evil, slant eyed, tortuous, scratching, independent asshole of a creature called a cat or a warm friendly, laugh a minute mate called a dog (excluding all illegal breeds)
When I was a toddler we lived in the countryside having moved from bombed out Birkenhead and took our cat with us. That killing machine used to bring in anything from sparrows to rabbits to field mice and pigeons, never ate any just enjoyed killing. One day man day came home from work at Bromborough docks, he came into the back kitchen opened his coat and in the inside pocket the head of a very small puppy popped out. Dad had stopped some bloke 'disposing' of it via a bag into the dock.
The cat attacked the pup but after it was prevented from doing so, via my boot, it eventually allowed the pup to stay in its, the cats, house. We had the pup for 17 years, her name was Lassie and she was a belter, a clever little dog who'd do anything for you, even said her prayers, sat on her hind legs and crossed her paws. Throughout her life she carried scars from her encounter with the cat, the end of her nose and a big pink patch where hair did not grow thanks to the cats attentions.
From that day to this I have hated cats, comtemptible creatures that take everything and give nothing in return where as a dog will always want to please its master, most species ooze love and affection even when it is not reciprocated. There wqas an article on the box the other day where they were arguing which makes the better pet..................what do you think
