He is looking for a move away from Citeh apparently, would u take him? And for how much? Also would he improve our current squad? Keeping in mind arteta is still out.

ABSOLUTELY.

He'd thrive with us and is the winger we're looking for. Jo, Yak, Cahill, and Fellaini would feast on his service.

I saw his quotes today and thought "OK, how about 18M + Richards and Petrov for Lescott." :D

Lescott swap bid

MARTIN Petrov's shock admission that he wants to leave City could spring the locks to free Joleon Lescott from Everton.

The Blues have been rocked by news coming out of Sofia that their left winger has said he wants a move.

The Bulgarian winger, on international duty, is said to have told reporters: "I don't see City depending too much on me this year, at least from what I have seen from the pre-season friendlies.

"No footballer is content with polishing the bench and I am no exception.

"In the next week I will try to speak with the boss Mark Hughes and if I get the green light for a transfer I will start searching for a new team."

Request

City were unaware of Petrov's intention, but the news could have them banging on the Goodison doors.

City are refusing to give up hope on the chances of signing Lescott, even though Everton boss David Moyes has taken a hard line with the player.

The Blues have already stepped up talks with West Ham over fellow England defender Matthew Upson as a possible replacement, and Portsmouth's Sylvain Distin remains another possibility.

But City will now be watching carefully when Lescott - on international duty with England - returns to Goodison after the friendly in Holland.

Moyes reacted firmly when a written transfer request dropped on his desk on Tuesday morning, turning down the defender's bid to leave Merseyside.

City had hoped that such a move by the player would convince Everton that it was pointless trying to keep hold of a player who had now said he wanted to leave.

After having bids of £15m and £18m turned down, City may decide a cash-plus-player deal might get them their man.

I love Petrov, best winger I have seen playing on these shores for years. But didn't know he was 30 though, thought he was younger + he missed all of last season through injury.

I would only value him at £2.5 million now because there's an element of risk.

no offence but can you see city doing business with everton the way things have gone in the past couple of weeks with lescottgate?

i cant and for some of you who think we would give you richards, petrov plus other players and money aswell well what can i say? do you think we are that desperate for lescott we would give you the bulk of quality players to get him? NO WAY.

we have stepped up the search for a new defender now so theres no way hughes will do business with everton and im sure if jo does well for you hughes will have a price on his head that everton simply cant afford.

petrov is a great player and would be gutted if he left because ive not seen a crosser of a ball like him for years and he would be great this season for us now we have 2 big lads who can score from the air.

the manchester evening news who broke this story aint got the best track record at getting things right so i wouldnt get too carried away just yet and if we did sell him im sure we wouldnt sell him to a rival of ours just like you wont sell lescott to one of your rivals.

petrov would move back to spain.

I reckon Petrov prefers our kit, so he'd defo move.

He'd probably grip Hughes in the changies, in front of everyone, and tell him he's going to dont stand in his way.

The rest of the team would break to pieces then and you'd probably end up playing footie in the third tier.
