Reidy was the heartbeat of the first Everton team I remember watching, top bloke as well he sold his FA Cup medal to pay his players wages when he was managing Plymouth, says a lot about the man. I reckon the only reason he's not an ambassador for us is that he still enjoys the management side of the game, i think he's still managing in India at the moment.

Great player for us, that tale he talks about his uncle Arthur at the Derby is just Reidy all over.

One of the best documentaries I've seen was about Mardonna and he's describing his great goal , that great against England in Mexico. He can't remember any other players names but says "and Reid kept chasing me". Just seems that he gets on with all former players and they seem to love him, great ambassador for the club. The only surprising thing is he's not got an official role with the club, which I'd love to see.

He only played 13 times for England, but he was one of the outstanding players of the 86 World Cup.

He was probably one of the greatest players in the World for a short period, 85-86

asked for 'Midfield Generals Never Dye'
Dave had told him about my username and said he gave him a poker face then just cracked up & called me a cheeky tw@.

Remember seeing that he was training at Wigan due to being written off by Bolton.

60 grand we gave them in 82 for him & within a couple of years he was Footballer of the year & finishing behind Maradona Platini & Elkjaer for WORLD player of the year.

Legend used a bit too liberally these days but not in his case.

here's an early pic of him from Bolton...
"errr, listen mate I spotted a bit of grey this mornin' any chance you can touch it up a bit in the studio"

"No problem lad, state of the art my place I'll easy get rid of that for ya"

Aye he went right over to the corner of the Park End and Bullens and spend an age with the trophy. I assumed he knew someone there.
