He was lucky he played for England.

But he did it for England , he was something that foreign teams didn't know how to handle . Imagine Crouch playing for Barca in El Classico , ok a bit far fetched but Ramos would have a nightmare trying to figure out what to do.

I like him, comes across well, funny as well. In his column about why he’s calling it a day. Deadpan ....Im retiring, as I’m 39 in January as didn’t want to be thrown on (for the last few minutes of a game) for balls to be smashed up to me.

it wasn’t his ability on the floor, his lightning pace, or his phenomenal work rate that saw him leading the line for so many teams was it? Nice bloke by all accounts, wish him well.

Can't help but like the guy, kind of a knob but an affable knob.

Burnley were at Goodison on the next-to-last week of the season, if you remember (we won 2-0). Crouch was warming up on the touchline late in the game. I was so hoping he would come in so that we might see Bernard go up against him on a set piece. Was not to be unfortunately.

Its an interesting one with crouch, people use who he scored against as a stick to beat him with....yet wont use that logic on others they like.

If you picked apart most strikers for England, they also scored against lower level teams.
