Just watched a YouTube vid and have to say it looks good.

Much more fluid than recent years.

Really enjoying the demo

Been getting some great reviews. Usual still applies - licences, menu design etc - lower the scores, but overall sounds like it's taking the thinking man's football game crown.

IGN - 8.5
EUROGAMER - 9/10

It's a completely new game engine (fox) so they have had to basically start all over again with player id and animation. There is no where near as many true id's as previous games. They will build it up again but it's going to take time.

This is a very special version this year! Takes a bit of time getting used to new controls and how it plays but once you do it's the most real game of football you'll ever play on computer.

As always license, stadia etc let it down but it's really not there fault with the mighty power house of FIFA hogging all the license's. Game play wise, pes was always the best. FIFA to there credit caught up and produced a great game last few years but this year pes definately takes the crown for game play back.

Will it outsell FIFA or get the acclaim it deserves? Unfortunately not... Pes reminds me of Everton, fighting the good fight against the money bags (City, Chelsea) but often not getting the credit it deserves due to the unfair playing field and lacking the fashionability of the power house.

Can anyone list Pes 2014 Everton player ratings??

14 was blatantly a half finished game. It's pretty shameful that they released it in that state.

The new demo plays like PES 5/6.

I'm coming across as a fanboy melt.

Wouldn't agree tbh, think in 2012 there was lots of teething problems but there was huge improvement the following year. Then came the massive overhaul which I reckon there was no need for and that resulted in last years disaster of a game.

Each to their own, just find it strange people posting in a thread about a game just to slate it and peoples opinion on it, hate fifa myself but couldn't be arsed going in a thread just to slate it, pointless.

I loved PES, that's why it pains me that every year it's hyped up and every year it's total gash.

I don't love FIFA the same way as the way I felt about PES on the PS2. Like being with a bird now, but fondly thinking back about that ace time you felt up your ex.

Its frustrating alright when they make a complete balls of it like last years, still feel they were headed in the right direction before last years overhaul and now hoping for an improvement on 2013 this year, and that it resembles nothing from last years farce.

Personally I think you're very wrong. From ISS Pro on the original Playstation up until PES6 it was a far better football game than FIFA. When the move from PS2/Xbox to PS3/Xbox360 happened Konami completely lost their way and FIFA has been the better game since around then (think it was FIFA 09).
