There are some dumb folks out there. Had to laugh with the other half over the weekend as plenty of Americans were suggesting war on the Czech Republic, not realising that Chechnya was in fact a completely different place.

Not to bag on America like, because I generally love the place, but that did make me laugh and cringe in equal measure.

The Onion is hilarious, and made even more so when people mistake it for truth. Especially when news agencies slip up about it.

Not really. A different fake news site (not the Onion) ran a story about Sarah Palin calling for war against the Czech Republic. It got picked up by a Czech newspaper which thought it was real. In fairness, it does sound like something she'd say.
