Folks, for professional reasons, I have been asked to do some research into who does and doesnt, pay into a pension. Not looking for details, just a yes/no, private/company, why/why not. If you are UK based or not would also be of interest.

Mods, feel free to close what is likely to be the most boring thread ever, but you never know!

Thanks Reidy. So how would you feel if you were compelled to pay 4% of you income into one? (employer would pay 3%, taxman 1%)

im in the work pension(superannuation) and i find it hard to believe the goverment expect me to work beyond 60 let alone 68! I'll probably see very little of my pension the way this country is being run! There saying the Police, fire and armed forces can retire at 60 which i totally agree with but why are the ambulance staff not in with emergency services when it comes to retiring at 60?

Still worth it for 2.50 a week. Then you can get TX to look after your ill-gotten gains in the Caymans and drink daiquiris with Robert Earl and Amanda Holden*

Yeah but if you are lucky you will get 60p back.

I keep getting a statement from 1 I had at work years ago, paid in for about 4 years, and I'll get about £1500 a year at the moment, I wish I could start drawing it now tbh.
It will pay for a holiday or something every year, we'll probably end up backpacking again.
