He was a magical player, but I've not liked him since back in '05 when we beat united 1-0, and he got sent off for maliciously raking Davie Weir's achilles.

Brilliant player. Alex Ferguson wouldn't be where he was today with out him.

He retired from international football far too early for my liking. He still had alot to offer England.

Zidane said he's the best he's played against?

Case closed isn't it, really?

Immense player but the time is right, the 60 yard passes are still present but he's too slow in mind and body to run a midfield now.

Time has finally caught another of the Golden Generation, like Butt and Neville before him and with only Giggs and Beckham to go the sun sets on what was a revolution in English football. The player United worked for to grant him time and space because he was the player United knew would guarantee chances made, a more clean and crisp striker of the ball there has not been and the vision and timing not only for killer passes but also to knock breath taking volleys in from distance the game of football has been made a better spectacle due to this player. Though I agree, he couldn't tackle and relied on referees knowing it meaning he didn't get booked or sent off a quarter of the times he should. (The England fiasco of playing Lampard and Gerrard in his position and expecting miracles from him on the left mid spec actually prolongued his career and highlighted the two aforementioned players gross short comings - especially in the creativity department).
A one club man, more medals than he can wear, and overcame Asthma to do it. Fair play.

He's a right thug is scholesy and it always gets laughed off as 'ha ha, he never did learn to tackle did he'.

No, you kernts it's not that he can't tackle it's that he aims for the man and if it was anybody else he would have a worse disciplinary record than Vinnie Jones but the refs never treat him like they should.

The Ginger Ninja.

An absolutely brilliant player. When the so-called greatest players in the world call Scholes the greatest they've ever seen, that should be enough for you.

Love watching Scholes play. Only non-Everton kit I would ever buy.

I've spent half my day on youtube (as ever) watching Scholes vid's. The man is the finest English player for a long longfellow deeds

Just makes it all so easy

The midfielders midfield player, everyone from zidane to the new crop like xavi and iniesta saw/see him as the best all round midfielder of his generation.

No surprise you had the barca midfield scrambling for his shirt on Saturday when the whistle went.

One of the few truely world class players England has produced imo.

this , lad.. when i was growin up scholes was always a player i remembered when i was kid about
10 playin footy in the street probly one of them when i shoot 'scholesssss' always thought he was
a beast still is a good player

signed him on all me fifas when i was younger aswell, propper sick he was

Always thought he was the United version of Gerrard myself, except gingerer and with the media pretending (via all this coy "well he cant tackle" rubbish) that he wasnt a dirty [Poor language removed], similar of course to their insistance that Stevie G isnt a diving cheat.

A great player, but his history of featuring in a succession of deeply hateful teams will always damn him in my eyes.
