Paul Power

Mine was on topic, both posts I made. First was a joke based on a line from the article that was linked to (hence: I read the entire article and found it a very good read), second was indicating that I took on board what the previous poster said and commented that we could do with some Paul Powers! Third one was defending my posts from an attack, and this fourth one is a clarification on all posts, and is still on topic because it's fascinating to hear from slightly older fans who know these players and can let us younger ones know just exactly who fired us to glory in the years just before we were old enought to really know the club. I believe you're a fair and fine gentleman who will see this for what it is and will realise it's all in good fun.
Good deal standing up for yourself there mate but also a decent amount of snidey grovelling at the end to save the day.

Integral part of a superb team that won the league. I really can't remember any shockers from Paul Power that season. What I do remember is things like this

Not sure (cos’ it was a long time ago!) if it was this game or the 5-0 game in 1984 that the Manc”fans” really tried to kick off at Goodison? If I remember rightly it kicked off a few times in the Main Stand, and was kicking off in the Upper Bullens all the way through the game. Those big three foot long police baton things got a lot of use that particular day!

Certainly don't recall any trouble at the 5-0 game, but then I was busy watching Everton giving the world a lesson in how to dismember a good side. Lord that was a performance.

Inchy. God I loved that man. Still do. his (our) third goal here is great, and I always used to stand in that corner of the Street End, so he's running toward me looking just like he does in my avatar.

1984-1985 was all about style, technique and skill - we quite literally obliterated the opposition in about 95% of our games, and we basically started with the same 11 players every game.

1986-1987 was all about fighting spirit and depth of the squad. We were forced to down tools and fight all the way. Yes the skill and ability was still there and we were still an exceptional side, but it was a totally different title winning feat. AND PAUL POWER was integral to that, and personified that fight and will to win. Squad rotation and man management from Kendall was brilliant.
I'd agree with it being a different type of Everton victory. But there were times when we just annihilated the opposition and I thought it was just superb football. Funny how we didn't replace Lineker as such. Kendall was a genius.
