Hate is a very strong word for a football pundit who nothing to do with you getting banned from Twitter.

Intelligent on the pitch, no denying he was a very good positive footballer, unfortunately very thick off the field and a shocking pundit, him and Charli Nicholas are like an embarrassing double act.

Got no problem with a pundit saying they can't stand a club, so long as they give their reasons. Might make them interesting for a moment, rather than just spouting baseless bitter sentiments.

A lot of the old school sky pundits have seemingly had it in for us since we sacked Allardyce and hired Silva. Allardyce did wonderful for us apparently as we finished eighth, what more did we want was the general consensus if I remember. Then hiring Silva just compounded it as Merson and Thompson had it in for him since he arrived at Hull without knowing a thing about him at the time.

I know the term is also a cigarette but generally it isn't going to be seen that way so using it is the risk you take since there's about 700 other terms that don't double as slurs.

A few years back, under Martinez he was waxing lyrical about us. Last couple of seasons he’s developed a bitter dislike and his criticism is over the top so don’t know what’s happened. He is/was a heavy gambler so might have lost a wedge on us.

I thought his bit about Martinez and the Men in Black pen was quite funny.

Mocking his substance abuse is in poor taste imo, props to him for getting over the worst of it.

Today I saw a message on twitter from a fellow Evertonian that Paul Merson was on Sky Sports saying that the penalty we were awarded against Leicester was not a penalty. I said that Paul Merson was an idiot, what he knows about football you could write on a fag packet. When a defending player has his arms above his head in the box and the ball hits his arm, it's a penalty. He reported me to twitter for hate speach and got me banned.

I appealed this, as I don't think what I said was hate speach, I merely disagreed with him. But I think because I used the word "fag", which is British for cigarette, twitter upheld his complaint. I clearly didn't refer to anyone as a "fag" American derogatory term for gay, and I am saddened that twitter have upheld this. I think I can get back in twitter in a day, but it's not the point, I used to just think Paul Merson was an idiot. Now I actually hate him.

Ever since we signed Richarlison he has been gunning for Everton, he went barmy when we got Ancelotti as well, said we could only get players from the bottom half of the table and championship and Ancelotti could only be at Everton for the paycheck.

I don't understand how he is given such a platform in the media. Its dangerous

That's not really dangerous is it. It's a bloke talking about football on a football show.

Being arsed about a Twitter ban and hating someone for holding a contradictory opinion about a sport. That's marginally more dangerous.
