Very few players got the better of him. Very good defender wasn’t as offensive as modern day fullbacks, but with Stevens on the other side being more offensive, we would have been exposed too much if he’d been the same. Interesting insight as to what he was like as a person in Howard’s Way. Complex character, but obviously loved the club, I’m wondering does he work for the club in some capacity, as in the film, he’s got a club tracksuit on the whole time.

I think he lives abroad doesn't he, can't believe we offloaded him to Spurs !!

Just found an Echo article from about 4 years ago. Says he runs the club's walking football programme for seniors

I actually went to a few sessions as I'm of that age !! Put 2 goals on a plate for him too ! He's a really nice fella and up for a laugh, sometimes comes into a couple of the pubs by the ground after the games at Goodison.

As a young child, his name always fascinated me. It was exotic and also so unusual. It has a certain cadence to it that is nice to say out loud.

I just read Howard Kendall's foreword in the Amazon look inside thing and there are some funny anecdotes in there (good old Howard).
My favourite line from Kendall's foreword:

"When I look back at every signing I have made at all the clubs I managed, one stands out head and shoulders above any other - Neville Southall."

Pat is still involved with the club, through EITC, a solid Blue Nose. He doesn’t like the limelight, stays in the background, I met him in the Post Office pub in School Lane off Hanover St. about four years ago, he was with Sharp and Snodin, we had a bit of banter, I asked him about a couple of good Evertonians who looked after him when he played for the Blues, he still keeps in touch with them. Looks fit and well, in fact I said to Graeme and Ian “ He kooks years younger than you two considering you played in the same team, you‘ve both gone to pot“. They took it okay, I think, although Snodin put two fingers to my head and pretended to shoot me. I think Pat enjoys living in Liverpool and likes the characters he hangs about with, streetwise Scousers.

"I met Pat about 2 years ago at the Boys of 85 reunion and he admitted it was he who had flashed the air stewardess. Over 20 years on, I was in no position to fine him, so we had a beer and a bloody good laugh about it" lol
