i always thought ally mccoist when he was in his prime, he only managed 8 goals in 56 games for sunderland though, so maybe he wasn't good enough for down here.

there was a tale as well that when we went over to holland to watch a player, we said he wouldn't cut it in England and another player caught our eye, we went to see him again and he got sent off for headbutting a player, so we signed him, a certain mr atteveld.
the 1 deemed not good enough btw was ruud gullit.
