What happens if we get an injury to one and another goes off form- a squad is what we need not just 11 players!

Yes, but its doubtful that one will go off form, and reight now we have begger issues in the defensive mid/winger roles...id sign him for 2 million, but i doubt he'd get a game, maybe be subtituted on once in a while. But i want to sign him, 20 years old, looks like he has a good career ahead of him.

How is Jagielka average?!

He is constantly reacting instead of being pro active. He can only get away with it so often and on many an occasion got found out. Somedays he gets lucky other days he doesnt. I would rather a defender be aware of the situation in the 1st place and not have to scramble back to make a last ditch tackle

Perhaps DM can see something else besides centre back? Jags has certainly had some Yobo moments but then, so has Joey himself. Maybe Lescott is pencilled in at LB with Nuno for cover and there's some mileage in the Baines leaving after all.
As much as I love Nuno (be still my beating heart..), Bainsey should be first choice LB for the future.
Anyway, just speculation as usual!

Much as I would like him there are priority positions needed and if the cash is short I cant see us splashing out £2mill of course I dont know what Dave thinks he has surprised us before

Why? For me its a no brainer, Lescott is awesome in that position

and theres teh headache, i want to play them all, thats why i think we should go with 5-4-1...It sounds defensive but it reall isnt...

Yobo - Jagielka - Lescott
Neville - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Baines

Leaving baines and neville to push forward like they do anyway, and allowing a tighter midfield too...thats what i think anyway...its basically 5-4-1 and 3-6-1 :)

I agree, but he wants to play at CB so i guess we should let him, baines has a better cross than lescott so thats an advantage, i dont really mind between the two of them.

If Lescott is forced to play left back for another season we will have an unhappy puppy on our hands. Centre back is his preffered position and in my opinion his best position. I still think Jags could be a solid right back for us- thats where he made his England debut and where he played for long periods at the blades.

I want to put Jagielka at right back...only problem is.......Neville would have to Venture into the Midfield...:o
