A well deserved gold.

However, she did get VERY lucky when Athing Mu fell over in the US trials and didn't qualify.

Although Hodgkinson has a better time this season and a better PB (just) than Mu, the American has a bit of an Indian sign over her.

Next year's World Championships in Japan will be a cracking battle between them.

Of course she did Dave. It would be impossible for an English athlete to win without some element of luck.

I'm not denigrating her achievement. I said so.

What a strange take. It's almost like you're nitpicking to be confrontational...

It is undoubtedly the case that if Mu had ran at these games then Hodgkinson would have had a massive fight on her hands. It could well be now that with a gold in the medal cupboard she gains confidence from that to beat Mu.

As I said, this is destined to be one of the great rivalries in next year's WCs...in fact, it already is a great rivalry.

presumably because they are small and weigh very little so that means they can pull off the higher difficulty trick moves with relative ease compared to a fully grown adult
