Cotto's a warrior . FACT , but Manny is the Man-ny .
Bring on Floyd now for the REAL Pound-for-Pound Showdown .
Mayweather on points .
Oh really. I see this "pacman" chap won.
Boxing just isnt football.
If Manny beats Mayweather then I think Manny elevates himself to one of the 10 best fighters ever and maybe the best I've seen since started watching boxing 25 years ago.
I used to think Mayweather but not anymore. Say they face December 2010. Mayweather will be a year older and past his peak while Manny is still getting better and better. That was his best performance and because he spent so much time in the Phillipeens helping out with the typhoon victims he wasn't even in his best shape (he was a bit winded from time to time). Plus Manny could now box with anyone and even if Mayweather his him clean he'll walk right through it. Even when Cotto hit him square (and Cotto has decent-very good power and was in the best shape of his life) Manny was never hurt and Manny's natural weight is a whopping 15lbs lighter.
He is at the top of his game , I grant you , but he has been beaten before . 3 times . Moreover , he's running for office in the Phillipines and this time - he ran before and came second - he'll get in .
Plus , Floyd will have been looking at this fight from when Pacquiao signed the contract with Cotto . He won't be unprepared .
I don't doubt his staying power . Nor his chin , but Mayweather is the Guv'nor . especially defensively . I just see him staying out of trouble , and as with De La Hoya , win a fight that he throws nearly a half as less blows . He's got a dig , and a chin on him , too .
Just my opinion , of course .
Can't wait though .
This is Hagler-Hearns - Leonard-Duran , ( round robin championships ) of the 2000's era .
