Nebbiolo

Valuation: £108 million
Michael Owen faces a £40,000-a-week wage cut after Newcastle owner Mike Ashley and manager Kevin Keegan struck a "fragile truce" on Friday. (Daily Mail)

Does anyone know what little Michael is earning at the moment?

Funnily, it did cross my mind that I should avoid using the term 'earning', but I used it anyway.

I think he earns about £35k a week to be honest.

He's probably paid about £80k a week, though.

Think he's on even more than that!!

AArrr poor lad 40k less a week.....only about 50-60k an week hey!!!

WTF is he going to do..:huh:

Hes on one of the highest in the premiership outside the top 4, i heard how much it was onece, but i cant remember it was between 80-100K...With this wage cut...lets sign him

He's on £120,000 a week lads.

Good on him, if they would pay it then why not If I was him would I [Poor language removed] take a pay cut, i'd threaten to run down the remaining year and leave on a bosman if that was the case, getting a nice little signing on fee in the process.

The same clowns paid £55,000 a week to Emre.

It shows how much of a farce Newcastle are, Owen is in his last year of his contract. Newcastle are in no position to put pressure on Owen to accept a £40,000 pay cut. He can simply see the year out on £120,000 instead of £80,000, and get a healthy signing on fee at another club, meaning Newcastle would lose their £17m pound investment for sweet FA.

My geordie mate reckons he should take a £80,000 wage drop and would still be over paid (seems even his late goals have not appeased the barcodes)

i would imagine his contract will be as tight as a fishes gearbox where cash is concerned and any attempt to make him take a drop will be met with a queue of lawyers outside cashleys homestead. he'd probably play a game of snap for it though

Maybe Bill will try and sign him saying something like well if your playing for peanuts join us an save on helicopter fuel:lol:
