Out of Contract Players - Summer 2016.

I'd prefer Oviedo were to be given a new contract if on the basis that he can prove his fitness in the latter stages of the season.

Prior to his injury he was showing signs of being a more than competent left back / winger. Quick, attacking and a great work ethic to boot.

However, I'm not sure if he is still the same player. Will he be fit enough to play? Has his injuries limited his footballing abilities? Time will tell.

Gibson is a difficult one. Really liked him under Moyes (was once pivotal to our play!) but he just seems too much of a liability these days.

Injuries have blighted his career here and the rumours of being heavily influenced by the ale seem to have gained some weight.

If he could improve his attitude and fitness then I think he could have part to play, as his passing and vision are still better than Barry and James.

Yet that may be too much to ask. If Osman were to stay then at most it should be a one year deal on reduced wages; otherwise see you later.

Hibbert and Pienaar should be binned off as soon as possible... I do not even count them as possible options for a depleted bench any more.

I'd offer a one year extension to Osman.
Pienaar would have to prove his fitness for a one year extension.
If Gibbo really shone through again then I would not mind him getting three more years - would have to impress this season though.
Sadly, I don't think we need Oviedo. I like him, but I would let him go. Potentially a two year contract if we are short of players in his position for some reason by next summer.

Bye Hibbo, it's been boss x

Perhaps it is just backing the players? Oviedo has been unlucky, extend his contract and let him go if he isnt fit. Gibson the same situation, he got his extension (didn't he?) and he hasn't proven to be fit enough to keep on. The club tried to back them and it hasn't paid off, at least the players who we are letting go bar osman are simply ones who are unfit and are not going to be missed.

Nope Gibson was in talks over a new deal right before the drink driving thing happened and the talks stopped i believe mate

Actually typed that wrong, meant to mean gibson got an extension and he hasn't proved his fitness so the club will let him go. That's if he did and not just finishing his original which could well be the case!

Either way let Gibbo go, keep oviedo.

Gibson would be worth keeping if he could stay fit. His injury problems since Martinez arrived here have made people forget how good he was for us under Moyes. Pienaar is a sad story. Barely played at all in 18 months but a fit Pienaar waltzes into our side IMO. I don't expect either of them to stay at the end of their contracts. Handing a new contract to anyone with an injury record like theirs is just bad business.

Hibbert and Osman are both done - would imagine that coaching roles may await both of them now

Oviedo is the one I'm not sure about. I expect it will all be dependent on what happens with Garbutt. I still think Oviedo is a decent back-up to Baines but he has fitness problems of his own and if Garbutt has progressed sufficiently by the end of the season then I don't see the logic in keeping a player in front of him to play back-up, especially since Galloway can play there too

Osman I think may get another year, but he'll be primarily used as squad fodder to help the younger lads come through.

Oviedo - hopefully he gets another year and we'll see how it goes after that. He deserves the chance if he can keep fit for a long period of time.

Gibson - Weird one. If he can prove his worth in the next six months, then he'll probably get another year.

Hibbo and Pienaar are both done.

Hibbo and Ossy to get coaching/player roles, Gibbo to get another year.

Oviedo & Pienaar out.

These are almost the last of the Moyes boys, could see them all going too.

I think Gibson and Osman will be offered new contracts. Hibbert will retire and leave or start coaching, Pienaar will probly retire and goodness knows about Oviedo.

I would like to see him get a contract and then loaned out to try to regain fitness and form.
I am still not convinced about Garbutt.
