Our Next Four League Games

10 points for me. Villa still a bogey side no matter how crap they are, so a draw with them I fear.

Think the top 4 is a bit much. Arsenal and spurs will buy this window and further strengthen. We erm, won't !

I would rate Southampton (a) and West Brom (h) as difficult games. Swansea will not be any easier, they have given some great performances over the season and are due a win against us. Even Villa can perform on their day. 12 points would be a fantastic return... not something we should be taking for granted.

Out of them all I would be pissed off the most if we didn't beat Villa.

12 points out of those games will be extremely difficult. 1 game at a time and let's get some of the injured lads back!

all depends on:

1. if mirallas and coleman are back

2. if we bring in a CM to replace gibbo

and the most important one.

3. if Jelavic starts firing

...so difficult and dangerous to predict any games in this league. Chelsea bashed Villa who walloped the RS. The RS thump QPR who go on to beat Chelsea. Unpredictable......as they say on the telly, lets take it 'one game at a time'.

Michu is a wonderful player, the swansea fans must be buzzing, their new manager signs Michu for 2 million, Rodgers get Borin and Sturridge for 24 million.

4 wins on the bounce is extremely unlikely. I'd love us to do it of course but realistically not many apart from the top two have been doing it all season. Anyone can beat anyone home or away in this league. Its not a case of if we don't win all of the next 4 we won't get top 4. We just need to do what we did last season in the second half and to a lesser extent the first half of this season: stay good at home, and not lose in our head to heads. If we don't give Arsenal or Spurs 3 points each then we have a great chance of getting fourth. We've shown the form for it for a whole year despite bad injuries, terrible refereeing, a fair bit of bad luck and a failure to punish teams when on top. Despite all these things we are still up there so lets stop making excuses for ourselves and watch a terrible Arsenal team or a Spurs team who are no better than us waltz into 4th just because we're hiding behind the squad depth reason.

We've missed Gibson and Mirallas all season and Jelavic hasn't really started firing, we've also leaked a load of goals. If the defence returned to normal, we kept Gibson and Mirallas in the team and Jelavic hit the form we know he's capable of then everyone else should be very wary. Our competitors have had Bale, Cazorla, Suarez and the like fit all season, they have to have their share of injuries soon surely, we've scraped along with half a team at times yet have buckled to no one in the head to heads and have not allowed anyone to pull away from us in the league. Only thing holding us back from getting what we want is ourselves.

in 2012 we were the 3rd best team over the year. we've beaten united and drawn away at city this season, as well as the draw at OT and win over city earlier in 2012. we're not a massive way behind them. they just have better players to come off the bench and turn a game

Spot on. Gibson and Mirallas fit, along with the rest, from now till the end of the season and I'd back us against anyone. Knowing our luck Cazorla, Arteta, Gerrard, Suarez, Bale and Dembele will stay fit all season.

I agree with all of that except the very first sentence! I don't think it's extremely unlikely that we can win these four on the bounce. If it was City, United or even Arsenal, Spurs with that fixture run you'd expect them to pick up 10 to 12 points, and we've been as good as any of them over the last year.

Like you say, we've just won three of our last four games without three or four of our best players over a congested Christmas period, and were unlucky not to take a point off the European champions at the very least. If we bring in one or two new faces and some return from niggling injuries and find form, there's not many in this league that I'm frightened of, home or away.
