Of the all the teams in the Prem, if say we're pretty close to the top in terms of sheer noise. Liverpool, United, Arsenal, and Chelsea all bring solid numbers and why not, they've got lots of fans, but we sell out 95% at least of our aways and no away end I've seen has done what happened after Lukaku scored at West Ham to win it.

I went into the Bullens Road ticket collection point before the match when we played Chelsea in the league this season and there were away fans buying tickets in there, and it certainly wasn't full at their end.

They spent the whole game jeering the Park End, amongst the more obsessively rude away fans we've had all season.

I think pound for pound we've got the best away support in the league...lpool, Utd, possibly arsenal will always sell out due to fans who are local to wherever they are playing...i remember lpool "taking" 4000 to a night cup game at portsmouth a few years ago yet only 3 coaches went from the city.

City, despite their success still dont sell out week on week away from home, Newcastle dont, despite bein a one clubcity...villa r [Poor language removed], spurs r ok, rest aren't worth a carrot.

is there a league table of away fans selling out their full allocation ?

i seen an article on the OS a couple of weeks ago saying we sold all our away allocations bar two, Newcastle midweek was mentioned but they never mentioned the other.

i also seen an article taken out by Sunderland FC in their local paper thanking them for their support of averaging over 40k a week and selling out 9 of their away allocations.

Remember going to Sheff utd in the early 70s only a kid when down with my mates dad and his friends. we where sat in a pub ( the cricketers arms I think ) everything was great until an almighty fight broke out. The next thing the police arrived all piled in through the door we where sitting behind and I kid you not, the next thing a copper on a F***in horse came through the double doors never seen anything like it, we got out pretty sharpish.

We have the best away support without doubt in the league. Obviously United, Liverpool, Arsenal have good followings for obvious reasons. Remember in 2011 when we took 6000 to Chelsea and they only took 2800 to us in similar circumstances. To be fair to the Geordies and Sunderland they have to go a long way when they travel anywhere so they do have some excuse. Nowadays we sell out everywhere the only game we didn't sell out this year was Newcastle on a Tuesday night. While neither games were particularly memorable selling about 2500 tickets at Southampton on a Monday night was pretty impressive. Also Arsenal away we sold out very quickly. Spurs fans are pathetic when we went to Athens in 2009 we took about 2000 fans. They only took about 300 to Athens in 2012. If we draw somebody like AC Milan or Inter in the Europa we'd easily take 10 000 fans.

Evertons away support is fantastic, definitely top 5 in the country like my team Leeds United, I love all the away figure stats and bumped in to this topic on google, hope you get champions league qualification next season so you can go on some great trips.

You got a link for that?

Agree. I think ourselvees, Leeds and Newcastle do very well. The Geordies don't take as many as Leeds and Everton, but they have far further to travel to a lot of aways, and they've won nothing for years either.

70s early seventies. Only real team was united, and they always got battered. Only london supporters I saw was millwall FA cup 1972 in the park end. They had a couple of thousand and forget nowadays these were tough lads. Same game just before 3 some of them came up from below at the side of st.end. Ended up with about eleven getting stabbed. A couple were brought out and put on stretchers and carried past the bullens road side and their mates were still giving the ups to the st.end lol. Millwall in the park end some started to jump over the barriers but got police batons for their trouble. That was the first time I saw opposition supporter mobbed up after the game and walking up towards lime st. At the junction of anfield road they met a huge mob of everton and liverpool who were also at home and millwall got chased back to Goodson. About 77 teams started coming to Goodson. The police usually kept them back for 10 mins and cleared the everton fans so they could escort them back to lime street. Still loads of trouble. Park end used to be divided between everton and the away fans and usually loads of squaring up and sometimes fights. Worst one was chelsea 77 after Kenny high street never saw a bigger everton hooligan element . The biggest mob( the police finally won the hooligan war)

City and Leeds used to bring very little. Outside Goodson was a nightmare for them. Then the courts started to clamp down on FV. who wanted to go to prison for months for having a punch up which if it happened on a sat night in town you would have got a warning.

i can recall a table produced a couple of years ago listing the top teams for away support based on away ticket sales that season. We were after Utd and the RS. I also seem to recall that that particular season the 4th best away support numerically was Norwich! (I think it was their first season back in the PL).

Must have been just premier league mate because norwich wouldnt get more than us if we played every game on mars.
