No he's actually bad. But I love him anyway for his effort and the chaos his badness brings.

We need a much, much better striker than him in urgently though.
I don't know what player your watching, Niasse is a really useful player for us we improve massively when he plays he scores goals, makes space for others provides assists what do you really want?. Is it because he was only (I think) 13 million or because it was reported Lukaku more or less took the p**s out of him or because Koeman didn't rate him (have you ever rated their judgment). If he had have been played from the off this season I'm sure he would be well in double figures now, which isn't easy for most so called top strikers, be careful what you wish for in a so called top striker they aren't always as good as you think when they come to the PL, but there always the proven PL types of Long,Carroll or Austin but I'd prefer Niasse any day to them lot.

Prem mins per goal
Prince Oumar 121
DCL 397

Oumar is litterally three times more likely to score than DCL. It was absolutely ludicrous that DCL was starting ahead of him and some of us were shouting that from the roof tops. We'd be 7th if Niasse was the no. 1 striker from the start.
He's awkward and unconventional but he has a goal instinct that puts him easily ahead of Morata, Firmino, Vardy and Lukaku in goals per min. Prince amongst men.

I'm a huge fan of him.

Certainly, he isn't an all-around striker; his first-touch is poor, his finishing is inconsistent, his hold-up play is near-absent, etc. But he is certainly tenacious and he doesn't quit, and he has great sense of "where to be" in the goal area. Plus, he's showed loyalty and professionality throughout what has clearly been some rocky times with EFC.

His only major fault is that he single-handedly extended RK's career here, when RK should have been shown the tradesman's entrance well before.

I don't disagree but Niasse isn't the player you want on the receiving end of endless hoofs. DCL is an out and out target man type player, Niasse an opportunist. If we play the style we played yestreday, Niasse every day of the week. But with 5 at the back, 3 DMS, I'd take DCL - because in the unlikely scenario where we get a shot on target, I'd trust DCL to hold the play up and fend off to a Rooney/Siggy type.

DCL works hard and wins a lot of flick ons but they rarely find a team mate as he's so isolated. He seems to lack a killer instinct as he just doesn't find goal scoring positions often enough and when he does his finishing is poor.
He's clearly much more the conventional target man but the primary job of a striker is to score and Oumar is far superior at that right now. A fact recognised by Unsworth and now Sam who both dropped DCL for Oumar.
If pig head Koeman had done the same he might still be here.
