as mentioned, I just cant get my head around he's some sort of hero because he runs around and gets a few flukey goals as a result of it

the only thing he has going for him is that DCL is a truly terrible goalscorer so can't be starting every week, if we had 1 single competent striker at the club both of them wouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11

Goals are goals. I dont give a damn if they are "flukey" (and his goals against Sunderland and Bournemouth were cracking goals by the way) they all count.

Look at the absolute state of us attack wise and you are turning your nose up at "flukey" goals? Come on.

We have a bad habit of over hyping so many of our players on the back of a couple of decent games. The fact is so many of them are nowhere near good enough and you can very much put Niasse in that category.

Probably right about that, DCL and Niasse would be tactical subs if we got a solid striker ahead of them.

Plus, I will take fluky goals and Niasse has better quality than most want to admit.

Course mate. Goal is a goal at the end of the day but honestly some people on here mate out he runs through glass every game and would die for the club because he does his job. I do like the guy there's absolutely nothing to dislike about him but footballing wise he is atrocious

That's the thing though, he obviously isn't!

Again goes back to what I was saying earlier. What is talent? What is ability footballing wise? His control can be ropy, his close control can be good though and can get him out of tight spaces, his passing again can be sloppy but he has also shown he can play some good balls (like the assist for Gueye or the build up to his first against Bournemouth). He is also a good finisher and he can hit the ball with power. Like any player he has his strengths and weaknesses, but because he is not what we traditionally see as talented he is deemed atrocious yet he can be very effective and has shown that. I'm only really bothered about the end result when it comes to football. If he is scoring and laying on assists then he is alright with me.

Really?
I don't do stats. They are incredibly flawed when it comes to football. I just use my eyes and he looks absolutely finished.

Not that the stats tell a true story or anything

I have said before, stats like that mean nothing to me. They are just numbers.

I have said loads of times stats are misleading and football is not a stat based game.
