Niasse is the football equivalent of a panic button, effective, but a panic button nonetheless.
When we stop panicking on a regular basis is the day we will see less of him and not before.

Very negative connotation with that word choice.

I'm made up. He tries hard, gives his all and people relate to that He can score goals too. Don't forget, Silva had him at Hull and clearly liked what he saw. It's Everton's equivalent of The Cinderella Man lol

I feel the need to explain my backing of Niasse in more detail here.
I have backed the lad ever since he came here and got a lot of ridicule for it. Not only did I back him because I thought he was a useful player but the treatment of him was a disgrace and not just from the management but from a large section of our fans too.
He came to the club at the worst possible time, the manager was a dead man walking, the players had generally downed tools and the atmosphere was toxic. He was also coming in from a much different league, midway through the season carrying on injury (OK it was a wrist injury but still...) and obviously was dealing with a few personal issues. After a couple of (admittedly poor) fleeting appearances he was deemed a fraud, the worst player we have ever had and the next Ali Dia. I mean seriously how offensive is that when you think about it? People were questioning his whole profession. Because he was generally an unknown player he was just written off as being awful, I find it interesting how Klaassen and Sandro to name two are not written off in the same way and there must be a reason why they have been crap because they were known of beforehand.
So now he has turned all that around and shown himself to be a player yet there are still people out there determined to stick to their preconceived notion of him being useless or a chancer, con man etc. Why is this? Do people just not want to admit they were wrong even if its to the detriment of the club or something? Even when the evidence is right there in front of them?
I find the whole thing mad. Niasse is a proven goalscorer and a proven footballer. Now I am sure there are some people out there scoffing at this notion "ees crap him lad, cant trap a bag of cement" etc yet by any metric you want to use he has proven himself to at the very least be worthy of being called a useful player.
Scores goals in the top flight for two different premier league clubs of varying ability and set up
Scores goal in European competition
Scores goals at International level
Scores goals in a number of leagues and at every club he has been at
Scores headers, scores blasters, scores finesse goals, scores goals just by sheer persistence.
Always makes chances to score
Plays a big part in others scoring goals
Scores against lesser teams (U23's, League cup etc, many full time pros wouldn't break a sweat in such circumstances)
Scores against the big clubs (Man Utd, Liverpool)
Scores goals even when only getting 20 minutes in a game.
So yeah, what more does he have to actually do to "prove" himself to some people?

Definitely a factor here.
Criticism based on his first few games was justified, but it is mainly the ones who went over the top with that criticism (comparisons to Ali Dia, fraud shouts etc) that are the most vocal now. People incapable of admitting that they might of got it wrong.
Utter rubbish, hope Silva was lying yano.

Have never questioned his attitude, he has a great work ethic but for me we need more quality in depth than the likes of him if Tosun isn’t starting or we sign someone better than Cenk.
Feels like we just exist at times and a unity in hoping for better isn’t there.
