In answer to the (leading) question - why would Soldado try and force a move - very simple, money. Pretty much ALL footballers are merely mercenaries these days. They go where the money is.

Why spend over half your transfer budget on a player suspended for six games of the season, who has already served a substantial ban in the past two years, and is proven to be a grade A trouble maker?
Def has the potential to completely upset the apple cart there. If they sign him I hope he does, too.
They should sign Ibrahimovic or Higuin, not Suarez.

Hopefully he goes the same was as Sterling. Don't forget he was the dog's bollocks for a few months last year, then just completely disappeared. I hope, when he comes back this season, defenders put the boot right up him and he goes back into hiding forever, with his nice new 40k a week contract.
