Has a team with Darren Bent ever done anything of note though, get you goals but an awful footballer imo.

i'd have him here in a heartbeat. If he does feck all all game but scores every chance he gets i don't care really. Striker's main role should be to put that round thing in the netty area. If he's doing that 15-20 times a season, he's done his job.

He's one of those that people rate highly and others the opposite, must say anytime he's been named in the opposition XI against us it hasn't worried me in the least, just think he's badly gash.

I'd like a striker to be able to bring others into play, create chances for team mates as well as get amongst the goals himself, the first two I think he doesn't offer to the team, even in the slightest, poor player for me, but thats football, divided opinions.

Spurs sign another defensive midfielder.

Spent £60million so far this season.

When Bale goes.... They won't spend anymore as that will cover it.

They've broken their transfer record twice and they need money for a new ground, so I can't see them splashing too much more cash either. They still look a bit short at CB and CF though.

I can't help but laugh at the irony of some people musing why a mediocre relegation fodder player gets a transfer to a very decent club.

Funny old game isn't it.

One of the funniest things i'v read this window is Samuel Eto'o being willing to take a pay cut to join Chelsea, he was hardly going to get a rise, being the highest paid player on the planet n all.

Sky sports news said £1m per month after tax is his current salary.

Bad move for Villa. It gets him off the wage bill but he was valued at £5m and he'll only have a year left on his deal when the loan ends. They're going to end up taking a massive hit on him.

He's on six million a year at villa I read. I imagine they'll be delighted just getting most of that of their wage bill. No way on earth they'd get a fee for him unless he'd be willing to take a massive drop.

They were on a hiding the minute they signed him for what they did IMO.

so Gustavo has jibbed Arsenal off for Wolfsburg.

Why is the prem struggling to attract world class players this summer? How many is it now who have snubbed us? must be nearly 20 top players
