Golding may have pulled rank? He's probably taken a look at the players blocking him (Caicedo, Enzo, Gallagher, Chukwuemeka, Casadei, Lavia, Ugochukwu, Kellyman and I'm sure there's others, I've lost track tbf) at Chelsea and seen sense, in which case, huge credit goes to him as an 18 year old in the modern game where some are just after the bag.
