2024/25 Orel Mangala

I liked, like Mangala, he settled quicker than most have. He would have been an asset for the rest of this season. He was growing into the role. Quietly doing a job. But, of course, because he was not "world class" and was often under the radar, many Evertonians dismissed him...

What??

I think most saw his worth and liked the lad, I didnt see many dismissing him at all.

On here anyway, nobody cares what people on Twitter say.

Didn't see that myself, saw the majority on here saying they'd like him to come permanently in the summer if we could negotiate an ok fee.

He's not amazing but he's most certainly a good quality squad player - even for a team wanting to maybe push for a EL spot etc.

I'm more alarmed at the utter loons I've seen recently wanting to either loan him or buy him outright in the summer - which is frankly a mental shout.

I do think though that like Harrison he was only ever viewed as a one year stopgap loan. Don't believe we negotiated an option in the loan which speaks volumes.

Hearing lots of folks on here say he is bang average and not worth a permanent move.
Frankly any CM who can perform in our team in 19 games and who we could pick up for 20M is worth looking at. He was playing in a 2 with Gana earlier and acquiting himself well with a couple of shots on goal per game and got on the scoresheet too. So much for lacking attacking credentials. Yes he is no Alcaraz going forward.
I think we have used 8 players in CM this season so far... before the new year our cover from the bench was a (albeit competent) 17 year old.

Well he sure as hell isn't worth a permanent move now sadly, out till November minimum, then even if he returns the same as he was you're looking at a season to get back to that level. 27 next month, chances are he'll be closer to 29 than not by the time he fully recovers.

Suspect this may be true now and a bit of a shame really, though I’m sure there’s younger and cheaper players we can get in all honesty.

Twitter? I did not mention that and I don't use it. I have read and heard fans dismissing him.
