2024/25 Orel Mangala

I’m all for obscure wonder kids I truly am. You won’t see me disagree with many of your targeted players.

However there has to be balance, a blend of seasoned players and world class potential talent.

Mangala played really well for us this season. If we could get him for a small fee then it’s truly a no brainer.

We saw today what a centre midfielder should have in their locker. Ive not seen that from Mangala -- though many raved about him.

Alcaraz would probably also offer more than Mangala if used in CM.

I think he would clearly be priced out of a move to us. I like him. To me he is very competent. But he is just that. Competent. Great player for depth that probably would not kick up a fuss. He will likely not hurt you in 99 percent of games. Players like Garner and hopefully Tim as well offer more.

Right. Hes a 10m midfielder that you have to fill-in for the squad. Hes competent, but theres no sense in paying 20m for a player like that when better is readily available. I thank him for his service this season, but with his long term injury Id be surprised if we go back in for him.

Yep. You'd love him in the squad and he will not make you look bad. He can play for most sides because he is a good dribbler and tidy but you want players that can offer more than that for his price. You also don't want him to stall the progress of our younger players.

I like him as a pro and sad for him with his injury but i've never really got the hype with him, especially in recent weeks. He's just a basic central midfielder who has attributes that most centre mids at the top level should have and tends to do a lot of 10-15 yard sideways and backwards passes.

I never saw one pass from him like what James Garner played on Saturday, and coincidentally, Garner was annoying me all last season because he too, was also playing very much like Mangala in most games, choosing safe sideways and backwards passes.

I think Iroegbunam is going to be an excellent player if he stays fit and Gana is still a key player but I want to see the Garner from Saturday ahead of the Garner of last season or Mangala from this season. Being bold and getting us up the pitch and creating chances for the strikers.

Saw him on the way up to the top balc on Saturday, on his crutches.

Absolutely lovely fella, seemed in good spirits and said he’s doing alright when I asked how his knee was and wished him all the best, he was absolutely boss with the kids and took a photo with them.

Hope he recovers well and quickly, got the impression he loves it here and wants to stay, but not sure how that’s gonna play out.

Think he could do a job for us depending on his recovery and the asking price.

Poor lad does his acl and the club give him a ticket in the top balcony. Never change Everton.

Dyche’s ‘coaching’ and tactics that. Moyes is defo going to have him pushing forward.

Moyes would probably have got much more out of Mangala too, without the injury, even though I agree that he doesn’t appear to have Garner’s ability.
