Opposition players who you respect

Keane snapped his cruciate himself kicking out at Haaland so extracted revenge on him years later by virtually ending his career and you respect him because he "owned up" to it? In his disciplinary hearing he backtracked massively on his book claiming it was artistic license.

“I have never in my career set out to deliberately injure any player,’ Keane said.

“In the incident involving Haaland I was making a genuine effort to play the ball."

He was a great player, but a snake and an absolute bell end.
Except he never ended Haalands career did he.

I said "virtually ended." He retired 2 years later having made only 4 substitute appearances according to our good friend Wikipedia. Having his right knee done by Keane would have affected the rehabilitation of his left knee which was problematic. He was playing top flight football before this incident so the two are hardly unrelated.

They were 2 entirely different injuries.... on different legs.

If you broke right leg and then fractured your left one do you think the second injury would help or hinder your rehabilitation on the first?

Cause and effect my friend. Anyway, opinions etc. I've stated he was a great player, I just think he is also a coward and his "rebel against the man" facade fell apart when he sniveled at his disciplinary hearing.

If we had a player of his like playing for us today we wouldn't be in the mess we are in.
