If Fellaini and Rodwell were to go how much would they go for?

£45m for the pair?

£35m to invest in new players, £10m on wages.

We spent a large majority of last season without these and did alright.

If Fellaini went and we didn't bring in at least three quality acquisitions in the same window I'd genuinely fear relegation, as that's how much of an impact losing a player like him will have on the quality and morale of our side.

If we are to sell him, it has to be in the next two weeks IMO.

A bit OTT, that, but yes we should be looking to get him to sign a new deal or flog him asap. We either need him or the maximum amount of dosh to spend.

Fellaini has missed large portions of the last two seasons and his absence has happened to coincide with better runs of form. I think the only player that we really couldn't do without is Baines. We'd get by without every one else. My view on our current situation is that we're offloading dead wood to bring new players in. I don't think we're under any pressure to sell our main assets but, if an offer came in that was too good to refuse, we wouldn't have to deliberate for too long. Fellaini is probably waiting to see who comes in and how much ambition we show over the summer before deciding whether to commit his future to us. We're not in bad shape though. A couple of decent signings and we should hopefully be able to get closer to Spurs and Liverpool next season.

Fellaini and Rodwell should be our centre midfield for the next decade.

I'm not sure why it's looking at the brighter side to sell 2 potentially world class midfielders.

I personally cannot see any team truly wanting Fellaini. This is truly an Evertonian thing. I cannot see Fellaini building on his £15m ridiculous fee, and though I see his potential, I hope only that he stays and lives up to his £15m price tag first in a team that qualifies for Europe, challenges for titles or cups, and then, and only then will I see these transfer rumours being worth any substance.

People may think I'm being disingenious but I truly feel if we sent out a letter to every club that could afford £10m to sign him in the World, very few if any would be willing to stump up the fee. I hope people don't bug me about this viewpoint.

Again, I reiterate that I want him to prove himself and be an Everton great. And I love him. But I'm just being honest.

Rodwell I hope we hang on to. And Fellaini too. I'd rather we sell players worth £2-7m before we sell those two.

Fellaini is class.

No disrespect to Rodwell, Arteta, Osman, Hietenga etc but if Felli was in a team surrounded by the same type of class then he'd be awesome. I hope that team will be Everton

Best Everton midfielder for years. He's phenomenal...and, I hate to say it, wasted at this club.

If someone like Henderson is going for £20M, MoFro is a steal at £30M.

He's tall, he can pass as long as it's not a long pass, and he can tackle as long as it's easy. But he can't shoot from distance, he can't sprint, he's a niggly player who in this league might prove decent in a 5 man midfield. But you really think Alex Ferguson/Guardiola/Mourinho/even Dalglish would spend even £10m on him? Do me a favour! Let's be honest here. He's not that good. He is POTENTIALLY imposing, POTENTIALLY domineering, but he isn't any of those things yet. He is potential and nothing more right now. We are dreamin if we think any team is going to bid £25m for him, and I will stand by that statement for the next year. But I understand your love, cos I love him too. I want him to be ours and OURS only for the next four/five years. I want him to grow and grow and take charge of this team and prove himself. But no-1 is going to bid £20m for him right now, anyone who understands football will know that. I guarantee you if we sent out a letter saying Fellaini for £20M you can have him no team in the world would bid for him. Be realistic. And that's after we spent £15m on him. I'm only being honest and real.

He's 23 and not the finished article. But for a kid that age to dictate the pattern of play against any team in the land is something to behold. He's the fulcrum that allows everything else to flow.

I see your point about the fee being extortionate for any club who'd want him given he's coming from a club ran by Captain Penniless, but he's already one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and potentially the best in the world at what he does.

I honestly can't name any other footballer in the world who is like him. He's completely unique. If you leave out Barcelona, I honestly think any side in the world could build a team around Fellaini as a lynchpin. He's fantastic now and only going to get better.

He and Baines are the only two truly global class players we have - meaning players who would walk into the majority of teams in Europe.

Yes. No question. They'd take him in a shot for that price. In fact there'd be around 50 clubs in a bidding war.

£20m would see alot of teams sniffing around too. You badly underestimate him - there is literally no other player in world football capable of doing what he can already do and is potentially capable of doing to an even greater degree if surrounded by a better class of player.

He'd walk into the Manchester United midfield. That's not bias - look at Uniteds midfield and tell me why he wouldn't. Chelsea too as part of a five man with Essien and Lampard. He would add much needed bite for Arsenal, so much so he should be considered a must-buy from Wenger. He'd walk into the Spurs squad through Sandro.

Plus, he doesn't need to sprint or launch 30 yarders in the top corner. He's not that type of player. He drifts intelligently into space, receives the ball and plays it on. The fact you're criticising him for pace suggests to me you've actually never seen him play, or you haven't watched him play properly, or you simply don't understand football.

Tubey mate I half share your viewpoint. But I am also being realistic. For anyone to say some team in this crazy world of football would even spend £15m, right now, given the opportunity, to me, is just not realistic. It's paper talk, probably generated by Everton people. The only way we'll get more than £10m on Fellaini is if we have a great season, i.e. cup win, almost or 4th plced finish. That's the truth. We need to not be thinking of selling him, but thinking of building a team with the likes of him in it. That's why we spent so much. So we could relax worrying about one of the CM positions. I don't wanna sell him. Unless it's £20m+, which is both unrealistic and also above the fee we paid.
