Last season dross v this season like night v day.
With the exception on spurs and city we have held our own with top 6 sides and deserved more as a result.
The derby result dented our confidence/belief badly and has done for a number of games. I liken it to a boxer being dealt a knockout blow and he is trying to survive the bell.
The so called big teams on the whole still have to visit the old lady I have confidence we can do them all some damage.
Playing style and quality of player much better after 4 months of Marco .... I am optimistic for our future

Nobody needs to panic.

As most sensible people have said. We’re actually extremely good on the road, but you get a clouded look on it due to our run of games we’ve recently faced.

We just need to find a way of being solid and consistent at home.

We’re a long way off where Tottenham, Chelsea are... but look whats changed in 6 months. Richarlison, Digne, Mina, Gomes and Bernard all in, all huge upgrades.

Out go Schneiderlin, Tosun, Niasse etc... were getting there, just need a bit of patience. We’re a work in progress, but let’s savour every away game now, as we’re boss away.

After 19 games in 17/18 season we had 26 points.

After 19 games in 18/19 season we have 27 points having spent 130m since then and having signed 60m of talent on loan.

Going the game has become enjoyable again, that speaks volumes for the work Brands and Silva have done.

We spent more money that summer than this summer.

So arguably by your logic we are doing far better.

But why worry about that when you have a clear agenda to peddle.

You are presenting statistical facts and it is a fair point.
I would contest that both points returns are not great albeit they differ by a point.
The higher return was turgid depressing anti football, this feels much brighter ... and richarlison has the stamp of class all over him

No worries, it's Christmas so I thought, you know.

But you point out how much we have spent, funny how you dont compare that to the other teams.

West Ham for example spent more than us this summer, hence why they got a better result this season compared to last, thats how it works, right?

I’m far happier than I was at this point last year.
We have only endured one drubbing at this point whereas 12 months ago we had already suffered several embarrassing results.
Our playing style shows vast improvement .
All intangibles granted, the tangibles as in actual points remain disappointing.
But every journey begins with a first step and I feel like we have taken ours now and I’m hopeful we will arrive at our destination notwithstanding any trips and slips that lay ahead.
Not bad for what is only a half season thus far.
