Holgate’s pace will be an asset although he is prone to a high ball. Not the best of qualities for a centre-back.

Telling a 19 year old striker he is first choice and then losing every game. Do you not think that the one or two chances he doesn't bury affect him knowing he scores and we win? Or Kenny struggling to the point where he is terrified to take a chance in case it costs us a goal? Davies going from a match changer to barely affecting the game and getting frustrated ad it's showing?

It's not really cynical , it's realistic. Losing every game and getting booed off or walking off to a half empty stadium doesn't make any young player feel giant , makes them feel small and completely sheds any young belief they can make a name for themself

It seems whoever is in charge just can't win with some of you lot. Howls of derision if the boss doesn't pick the kids. Now (over cynical IMO) moans about the fact that someone is. I'd 'kin hate that job in all honesty.

Lets start by trying to play defenders in defense and not concede goals as we certainly cannot be relied upon to score them.

In a few hours I will be joining thousands of Evertonians in Lyon. I am expecting us to win this game, this is no free pass for the manager. All of us travelling will have spent our hard earned cash and most will have taken time off work, so I expect the team to put in a shift.
Anything less and I will into walk into Goodison on Sunday brimming with discontent.

Personally I'm against the kids being in the team unless they are ready to play there. That's my opinion, I know others disagree. But where someone like holgate and Davies can step up and do a job for us we have others who are struggling without a way out now for them. I just don't think losing every week is a good environment for them
