The golf is just not right as a stroke play event. If they want to do stroke play they should have all countries playing as a group. Could still award an individual low score for a medal, and also a combined team low score medal.

Long drive medals for both individuals and teams over 4 days on the longest par 5. Closest to the pin in the same fashion for the longest par 3.

Fewest putts too.

Would be so much better for a competition when you are supposed to be playing for country

It totally is in club here. The long drive and closest and whatnot are still just a part of the total score.

I am not suggesting a 7 iron only hole. I won it for a few bucks in a weird and fun tournament. Just trying to make it a team sport with individual success also awarded.

I get what you're saying. But club golf is very different to professional golf. I agree with you though that it would be good if they could add a team element to it.

The US Olympic team need to get her out of there and make a pro-active decision on her behalf. Take it out of her hands. She seems to be being badly advised to stay on amid all the brouhaha back home...which surley cant be helping her? I suspect the hand of commercial agents in all this.
