At the end of the day though it's all about ratings. I think Boro vs Chelsea would attract more neutrals.

Maybe. Though ITV had no qualms about putting Oldham vs Everton on in Saturday night prime time.

Just for the record, 3.3m watched Oldham vs Everton (peaking at 3.7m at one point), whilst 2.2m watched Chelsea vs Brentford, and 2.5m watched Huddersfield vs Wigan.

ITV have followed Oldham beating Liverpool and then drawing with us, and usually tv companies stick with that team, especially when they think there's going to be a giant killing.

I believe the Oldham game being at night was due to policing mate. 10,000 fans leaving a ground on a saturday night is a lot less of a headache than the 40,000 at the Etihad or 75,000 at OT.

Again, Chelsea had to be an early kick off probably because of policing, and obviously less people will watch a game that kicks off at 12pm on a Sunday !

Now that both the Chelsea game and our game are same time/same day i'd imagine more neutrals would watch Chelsea than Everton. We'll see i guess.

You might be right, definitely about the times of the day affecting viewing etc.

I've just read elsewhere that Boro vs Chelsea can't be shown live, as the quota of live 5th round games on ITV and ESPN has already been filled (2 on ITV, 2 on ESPN). Don't know how true that is, but there you go. Also, both ITV & ESPN are entitled to show 1 replay live each. Currently us vs Oldham is the only replay, so will be shown. If Boro vs Chelsea goes to a replay, then whomever didn't show our game will show that replay.

Replay is on Tuesday 26th at 7:45pm

Once Utd v Reading had a winner we were always going to be on. Pity. Being on TV will take thousands off the attendance. The Club should let it be known that should we get to the semis then holders of stubs for Oldham and Wigan will be given priority treatment.

Im a little bit fumin over this, i went into work on sunday (my day off) to try sort the rota at short notice because i was working on the wednesday.

Its lucky im off on the Tuesday. but its also like Arsenal, they should come out with a alternative date now, instead of waiting until the result.

Still no idea if it's on TV mate. Just moved to the Tuesday.

Probably for TV actually.

it did say on the OS when they released the ticket details that the date and KO time could be subject to change

Just got mine then, do you think if we get to the final that it will be season ticket holders with Oldham and Wigan who get the tickets first? I can't remember how they worked it in 2009.
