Old trends in football you’d like to see making a comeback

442 and strike partnerships

All day build up to the cup final

Champions league on terrestrial television

Referees making an instant and irreversible decision on whether to award a goal or not

Black boots for the majority of players except the mavericks

On that note, mavericks

Centre halves being ugly and having bad haircuts and presumably body odour

Long sleeves or short sleeves, no base layers showing

Fa cup replays

7/8 top flight games being on at Saturday 3pm, with a couple moved to a Sunday for telly

Any more?
All that apart from....
European Cup - 2 leg knockout
UEFA Cup - 2 leg knockout
Cup Winners Cup - 2 leg knockouts.

From when exciting jeopardy was valued more than sky acquisition.

Proper tackling, players acting like men and just getting on with the game.
Corner kicks, the ball goes in the quadrant not outside, that's why it's drawn on the pitch !
No live football on tv. All games kick off 3pm Saturday. If you can't get to a game wait for match of the day, where they show 1 game, like they used to, hence why it's called Match of the Day ! OK, maybe the goals from the other games at the end. It would rid us of pundits of whom the vast majority are stealing a living. In the words of Mr Robert Zimnerman, " You dont need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows"
