…it was a lunch regular for us too, Joey. I remember going with our new baby daughter and an old lady asking if she was too young to be out. She’s now 38, a consultant surgeon expecting her 2nd child so it clearly didn’t do her any harm.

I think the family now run the Orchid Garden on Eaton Rd.

iirc, In the early 60s and probably before, that white building 2nd left was a tailor/clothes shop that had the latest in shirts etc
Many the time I had my nosed pressed against the window wondering where I could get £3-19s-6d from for this cool looking shirt.
 
….maybe why ‘The Crooked House’ was so crooked. I also recall an earthquake happening in Dudley some years ago.
Yes the Crooked House built on mining are., the earthquake was in 2002, I was living in Dudley Borough but about 5 mile from the epicentre, remember being in bed when it happened ,literally felt the bed shake and not for the right reasons! 😴
