I went to the Cavern rebuilt over the road, mid to late 1970s - Saturday's bill was show waddy = crap & a local band The Lettermen = brilliant -
You could buy ale lager \beer 50p in a plastic tea cup - when it was my round as it was standing only - a good crowd - but they just chucked the empty beer cups on the floor making it like a skating rink of wet plastic lol how I got the ale back without spilling any - the club was based on the old cavern brick walls, but it had a licensed bar ....
