Isn’t it a shame how things are just left to deteriorate, the old gates look brilliant. Don’t know if it’s because of cost, vandalism or lack of foresight in the case local politicians.

Only one man's opinion obvs - but over the years the council did more damage to architecture than the Luftwaffe ever did

I used to plant these up working on a plank it took 2 days & 2 staff plus me - from scratch a work of art - then the clipping afterwards - high maintenance - i won an award for the best in the UK once - high competition indeed -

You have to think back, Liverpool Cooperation was in the top 3 Horticultural of councils for Parks back then - they covered a massive area & everything was grown by them - my old boss worked there - he told me the Gardens superintendent fetch the payslips out on his pushbike every week lol on different days in his suit -
