I remember the Aintree well @Thomasc bottom of Linacre Lane, corner of Litherland Road. The nightclub part around the side was called the Spectrum. Had a few good nights in there!

Went to see the great Al Dean there late 1970's.

….the doomed Radcliffe Estate built in 70s and lasted barely 10 years. Modelled on a Cornish fishing village, built on land between Shaw St and Everton Rd but by 1988 all the houses lay empty and the bulldozers moved in.

Sad for me because I was raised in literally the spot where I’ve marked on the pic, we were one of the last to leave in ‘71;

…yep, I remember you saying. My best mate and next door neighbour moved across Everton Rd and into them too. We moved to a new council estate in Knotty Ash.

The way we used to laugh with these electric driven Milk floats - bottles rattling as the crawled along the roads on the cobbled streets delivering milk - who would have thought some idiot thought electric cars would ever arrive? -

The William Roberts baths opened in April 1936, just a few months prior to its identical Harold Davies swimming baths opened in Dovecot. It closed in 1993 due to structural issues -
