Yes I think I am right in saying they have moved it a few times? I went to the moved one over the road - sold alcohol in teacups - the crowd chucked them on the floor it was like an ice rink going to the bar - Show waddy waddy topped the bill - they were awful - a local band the Lettermen stormed it - that's who I went to see .....

…not many boozers I’ve purposefully not been in but that’s definitely one.
They named it the mine sweeping pub - put your pint downstairs distracted - gone - also great for buying stuff in ..... pitch & toss played outside too!
My dad went in there with his mates - purchased a round shot to the toilet- came back to the bar all the ake had disappeared- warned me to stay out of there!
Had a go on Google Earth to try for the same area. Bit mad seeing Manchester Road just end into fields.

An old mates local, decent football team in the early-mid 80s, occasionally did well in national cup competitions. I went to watch them play Stourbridge Town at Stourbridge, they got whacked 4-1 and had 3 sent off!

My oldest sister worked at The School of Tropical Medicine on London Road (cows, sheep, turkeys lived on the roof). Not sure what she did there but to this day won't eat turkey and she met her husband there (a Kopite!), his job was with fish/aquatics.
