It was still a working Smithy of sorts in the 90s
Remember it when it was more or less still 'in the country' in 1968
Finished work on Sat morn at 12, (time and a half), went with some of the fitters and sparkies up to the Hillfoot, got thrown out of there about 3.20
The auld fitter I was working with decided we needed more beer, so off to the Bridge Inn, which, being 'in the country' and it being summer had a semi permanent all dayer on saturdays
Bailed out of there about half 5
Drove home on my Lambretta TV 200 (bored out to 225cc and tuned up, Max 82mph on the flat)
Went in, shovelled my tea down, got changed, shot of into town.
All seemed like a good idea at he time
