Old Photos Of Where You Live

Usually too expensive for the likes of us but I remember as a pre-schooler having some issues and mum taking me to the hospital. As a reward she would take me to TJ Hughes for a cup of tea and cake and more importantly (to me) she would perhaps buy me one of those plastic toy soldiers like 1:18 scale about 4 inches tall. My favourite for some reason wasa japanese WWII infantryman standing shooting his rifle. I am not sure but I think at that age it scared me a bit!

….lovely memories. We lived quite nearby and getting something from the chippy was a luxury even though I don’t ever recall feeling we were missing out.
