I loved that swimming baths as mad as it was it made you into a good swimmer just to be streetwise - lol no H&S in those days - like Woolton baths they made into a KOI Carp pool to try & get admission monies to keep it viable - this must also be an effort to keep the facility of sorts open at Dovecot .....sad but true

…reminds me, I remember getting the 46 bus from Penny Lane with John Bailey after a trial for Liverpool Schoolboys. I’d have got off in Shaw St, I think he lived off Scotty Rd.
….Valentine Grove just before demolition, a very familiar site for those of us growing up in the ‘60s. Looking at this pic, I can actually smell the dust from those abandoned houses, we’d play in them as kids, knocking holes in the attic space to run through the whole terrrace;
