I was in the Lower Bullens for that Exeter cup tie. I was sitting next to an Exeter supporter (honestly!). He told me he had left home at 4:00 that morning! I asked him why he travelled such a distance, and he replied that it would probably be the only time in his life that he could see his side play at a Division One ground, and also see his side play at a ground that had hosted the World Cup semi-final in 1966. Couldn't argue with that!

The caption to that team photo is the wrong way around. It should read 'right to left'! Tommy Ring was a great left winger. Broke his leg at Chelsea, if I remember correctly - never the same player after that.
